Last month saw the successful launch of a new business network for women in Mid- Devon.

Women Forward is a co-operative of women who are intending to start up their own business or who are already trading locally.

It provides opportunities for training, networking, cross trading and joint marketing.

At its launch Mayor, Neal Davey welcomed this innovative project supporting business women across Mid-Devon. Over wine and canapés more than 30 women discussed their ideas for starting and developing a wide variety of businesses in these challenging economic times.

Representing businesses as varied as accountancy, fashion, health and crafts women from across the area spent an interesting evening at Tiverton Town Hall swapping ideas with each other and representatives of the Nat West Bank and local councillors.

Women Forward meets regularly each month at the Hartnoll Hotel, Bolham with a varied programme of activities and training. The first Annual Meeting will be held on Monday 16th April at 7.00pm where a committee will be elected to take the organisation forward.

Women Forward welcomes enquiries from other women in Mid-Devon and further details can be obtained from Joslyn Mottershead: joslynmottershead@gmail.com, Chris Herries: cherries@cooptel.net or Simone Phillips mail@addsup.co.uk.
